Jesus, the Living Water

As the people continued to wrestle with the question of whether Jesus was the Messiah, they thought they knew where He had come from, but they only knew of His earthly birth. He explains that He had come from the One Who sent Him Whom they don't know, and He did not come of His own authority. Although they tried to arrest Him, His "hour" had not yet come, and He warned them that He would soon leave and that they would not be able to find Him. They suspected He would go to the Jews of the dispersion or the Gentiles, but He offered them this invitation: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink."
