Jesus' Authority

Once again, the Jewish religious leaders ask for a sign, and He answers them as He had before with an additional rebuke, and warns His disciples about the "leaven" of these leaders. When they come to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asks His disciples who the people and who they think He is. Peter responds by saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God," but he soon scolds the Lord for telling them that He must die. The Lord rebukes Satan for the temptation and reminds His disciples of the true cost of following Him.
