The Power of the Tongue

Although the tongue is small, it exerts tremendous power. Those who take on roles of teaching bear greater responsibility for the influence they have on others. We cannot control what we say without the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. As a result, the untamed tongue is described as a fire that affects everything about us, and it's set on fire by hell itself. If we bless God and cause harm to others with our words, we contradict our claim to be authentic followers of Jesus. We must seek God's forgiveness and forgiveness from those we've hurt with our words.
