Real Faith Works

Through reasoning and examples, James shows us that the kind of faith that goes no farther than a mere statement of belief is ineffective and dead. If someone claims to have faith but shows no evidence of genuine faith, that faith is not saving faith. The demons believe that God exists, and they tremble. Abraham demonstrated his faith when he agreed to sacrifice his son in obedience to the Lord. Rahab demonstrated her faith when she protected the spies sent into Jericho in spite of knowing very little about God. Their actions didn't earn their salvation, they revealed the vitality of their faith.
