Patient Steadfastness in the Face of Adversity

God is bringing judgment upon those who exploit those less fortunate, and this message of judgment should encourage James's oppressed readers to be patient, knowing that the Lord is returning soon. As we wait patiently for the Lord’s return, we are not to complain about each other, we are to imitate the patient steadfastness of the prophets and Job, and we are not to exaggerate our speech with oaths or curses--our “yes” should always mean “yes” and our “no” should always mean “no.”
