It's a matter of perspective. People who grew up in country churches tell us that, to them, First Baptist seems large. People who come from Montgomery or Brimingham may think of First Baptist as medium sized or small. The fact is that First Baptist is in the top 3% of all Southern Baptist Churches in Alabama.

First Baptist is large enough to offer programs such as Upward Basketball and to provide Sunday School classes with people your own age. One may discover that First Baptist is small enough, too. Our members will tell you the two keys are to get plugged into a Sunday School class and to attend an evening service on Sunday or Wednesday nights. At night, the fellowship seems warmer, you find out what's going on, and you feel like a member of the family. A person will never experience that by just attending the morning worship services.
